I’d like to share with you my absolute favorite recipe for gingerbread cookies. The combination of spices is perfect, and the cookies are sweet without being overwhelmingly sugary. The texture is perfect as well; the cookies are just crisp enough without being too crunchy or crumbly.
Feel free to download the recipe here: Gingerbread Cookies
It’s become a tradition for me to make these cookies for Christmas every year. They’re a big hit at all my family functions. My friends love them too! You can decorate the cookies with royal icing and candy or sprinkles, and they look adorable!
I posted a YouTube tutorial on how to make these gingerbread cookies, step by step. Watch the video below, and be sure to subscribe to my channel to help me out! 🙂
I put together a plate of cookies for my neighbor’s kids, and I personalized the gingerbread cookies with their names. I think it adds a really nice touch, and the kids love it! On the cookie plate you can also see my Chocolate Peppermint Shortbread and Pinwheel Cookies, which I posted tutorials for last Christmas.
The recipe is great because you can get really creative with it. This year I used the same recipe to create gingerbread sandwich cookies, as well as miniature gingerbread houses. I’ll be posting tutorials and pictures on those shortly 🙂
I hope you all have a very, Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year! Now go and enjoy some delicious gingerbread cookies with a cup of hot chocolate! YUM!
