I recently had the opportunity to test out an interesting product called the Klipy Cake Divider, which can be found at www.klipydesign.com. The product is a small device that acts as a guide to slice any round cake into equal pieces. The device is adjustable and you can use it to make 6, 8, 10, or 14 equal-sized slices. The Klipy Cake Divider is the perfect way to avoid dessert-time arguments between young children (and those young at heart) over who is going to get the biggest piece!
The Klipy Cake Divider is small and compact, and is really simple to use. You simply twist the top to select the number of slices you desire, and that brings the two knife guidelines closer together or further apart. Then, insert the pointy end into your cake, and use the guidelines to slice your cake.
Once the first slice is made, rotate the Klipy Cake Divider so that the one of the guides matches up with the slice already made. Then, make your second slice. Continue the process until the whole cake has been divided equally.
And that’s all there is to it! Please excuse the messiness of the cake, it was a strawberry mousse cheesecake that was really soft and creamy both inside and out. It was absolutely delicious though, and I’ll be posting my recipe soon! Regardless of the fact that it looks a little bit messy, you can see that the Klipy Cake Divider worked quite well and effectively divided my cake into 10 equal slices.
One thing to keep in mind is that the Klipy Cake Divider only works on round cakes. If you try to use it on a square cake, the slices won’t be equally sliced.
